Catastrophe County

Hello outlaws,

I want to apologize for my radio silence over the past few months. Sometimes, no news is good news, but not this time!

Without getting into it, suffice it to say that life over here at Copperhead County HQ totally went to shit in September. While I was making extremely good progress this summer and early autumn, and was planning on releasing the next big update this December, that isn't happening now.

This sucks! I'm sorry. I know the current state of the release is messy between major updates, and there's a ton of new and updated content I really want to push live. It just isn't totally ready yet, and I haven't been able to get it there lately because, honestly, I've been in the midst of some of the worst months of my life. But I'm coming out of the other end now and am almost ready to return to the grim work of book development.

(In fact, I was going to post this update earlier this week, and then on Monday... I tested positive for COVID! I managed to avoid that shit for three years, until it appeared now to really fuck up the end of my 2022.)

My plan now, especially since I am sick as hell, is to chill for a bit longer before getting back on the horse. The good news is that I really did get a lot done earlier this year. The next book version really is extremely close to being finished. What will that mean?

  • The next release will be substantially game-completegame-final, and text-complete.
  • It will not be text-final, because after the next update, I want to pull in a bunch of hands for editing and review to help shore it up.
  • It will not be art-complete or art-final, because we're still working on a lot of art, and may very well add more before all is said and done.
  • I'd like to have that ready ASAP in the first months of 2023, and the whole thing done not-too-long after that.

Anyway, that's where Copperhead County stands as of December 2022.

Hey, you also might have noticed that social media is melting down. I have yet to migrate to any of the New Twitters, and maybe never will, so follow this page for all of your Copperhead County news needs.

Thanks for bearing with me. Stay tuned for more updates in a hopefully brighter 2023.
